Steve is the manager of the Initial Operations department for Burns & McDonnell Oil, Gas and Chemicals GP. In this role, there have been several commissioning and startup projects including fractionation, gas processing, refinery and storage terminal facilities. team has experience with many different process systems, including compressors, heaters, pumps, and processing. Worked for GE for 8 years as a Technical Advisor performing work on installations and maintenance in the US and Internationally in Italy, Australia, and South Korea.

Director, Completions & Commissioning

Will Diduck has been in industry for over 35 years and has over 20 years of project specific experience relating to Completions and Commissioning in the oil, gas and petrochemical industry. His project experience has been in South East Asia, the US Gulf Coast and Canada. He is noted for his “Project Commandments”, which serve him wellon managing the delivery of his project scope. William’s first Project Commandment. “Nothing great in the world has ever been created without passion." He is currently the Manager of Completions and Commissioning for Worley.

Charlie Lyda currently serves as Vice President of Commissioning & Turnover, responsible for pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup and turnover for Fluor’s projects across all business lines. Charlie has over 30 years of experience in commissioning, start-up, operations and maintenance of electric power generation, petrochemical and chemical manufacturing facilities. Prior to joining Fluor, Charlie held various commissioning, startup and O&M positions with Duke Energy and Chevron USA.

Ervin Patterson

Ervin has received multiple prestigious honors, including the James B. Duke Award from Duke Energy in 2013 for exemplary efforts. He also earned the Pinnacle Award in 2009 from Progress Energy for extraordinary team efforts in one of the largest projects of Its type in the U.S. at the time, a modernization of a 4-on-1 combined cycle power plant. Ervin also served as an expert panel member chosen by the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board in 2010 during the investigation of the Kleen Energy Explosion.

Jeff is a Commissioning Manager at Shell Oil Company providing support to downstream, unconventional, and offshore major projects. He has held various roles in Engineering Management, Operations & Maintenance, Reliability, Commissioning, and Project Management in his 28 years with Shell. His most recent positions have been as the Commissioning Lead for Shell's Olympus and Appomattox Offshore Platforms. Jeff also spends time providing commissioning advice to the majority of Shell's largest projects in the Americas.

Dennis started in the oil and gas industry in 1985 as a Process Operator for Shell. He took his skills offshore in 1992 to play leadership roles in the Atlantic Canada offshore platforms and Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO’s) facilities, Hibernia and others. Moving back to Alberta in 2006, he and his partner, Brian Douglas, established Sancon Commissioning, a full-service commissioning specialist firm. This firm has successfully completed 400+ projects throughout Canada and the Caribbean and became ISO-certified in 2009.He has been instrumental in developing customized completions and controls software for its clients.

David serves as the Director of Commissioning for Kiewit’s Oil, Gas and Chemical Division. David is approaching 20 years in the OGC industry which has been predominately spent in Commissioning. Today, David provides oversight to Kiewit’s commissioning estimates, planning and onsite delivery efforts.

Alex Howard is a chemical engineer and a fellow of The Institute of Chemical Engineers. In his career, Alex has been a site commissioning manager for multibillion-dollar projects as well as a regional commissioning and start-up manager for a 42-billion-dollar industrial gasses company. Alex is now the technical director of Engineurs, who specialise in supporting their clients in achieving flawless start-up and operational excellence.
